There’s something about the end of August…
School has started again for some. For others, it’s starting soon.
Vacation mode is shifting—or maybe it already has. Summer Fridays are ending. Calendars are filling. Routines are returning.
September is beginning to make itself known.
And even if none of those things applies directly to you, you can probably feel it.
Something is ending. Something else is beginning.
We tend to think of change as the big things—a move, a new job, the end of a relationship, a loss, a new beginning.
But our bodies notice the smaller transitions too.
A change in rhythm.
A change in routine.
Less daylight.
More responsibility.
The subtle sense that one chapter is closing before we’re quite ready to turn the page.
And so often, we move straight from one thing into the next without giving ourselves any time to notice that something has changed.
The Space Between is that time.
A place to pause at the threshold.
To give your body time to absorb what life is already doing.
To notice what this ending brings up in you before asking yourself to move into whatever comes next.
In my Five Rs Spiral™, this is where we begin: Regulate.
Not because there is something wrong with you, but because before we can hear what is true, choose what comes next, or move into something new, we sometimes need enough stillness to notice where we actually are.
The space between isn’t empty.
It’s often where we begin to hear what we couldn’t hear while we were still moving.
What still feels true.
What no longer does.
What you want to carry forward.
What you may be ready to leave behind.
Not because you need to have the next chapter figured out.
Not because September requires a new version of you.
And not because there is anything you need to fix before moving forward.
But because you deserve a moment to notice where you are before you step into what comes next.
What we’ll do together
For this time together, you get to stop moving.
We’ll begin with a little time to arrive—to notice what this transition is bringing up for you and what you may not have had space to hear yet.
Then you’ll lie down, get comfortable, and I’ll guide you through an extended Yoga Nidra practice created around the space between endings and beginnings.
There will be nothing to accomplish.
No decision you need to make.
No answer you need to find.
Just space to listen.
To rest.
To notice.
And perhaps to hear something that has been waiting beneath the noise.
After the practice, we’ll have a little time to return, reflect, and allow whatever surfaced to simply be there.
That summer went too quickly.
Maybe you’re already feeling the pull of September and everything waiting for you there.
Maybe part of your life is changing in a way that has nothing to do with the calendar at all.
Maybe you’re standing between what was and what’s next—and you don’t quite know what to do with the uncertainty.
Or perhaps nothing dramatic is happening.
You just feel the shift.
You don’t need a reason bigger than that.
You may arrive feeling...
You don’t have to know what comes next.
We are so accustomed to asking:
What’s next?
What am I going to do?
What’s the plan?
But sometimes those questions come too soon.
Sometimes we need to stay in the place before the answer for a little while.
To recognize what has ended.
To feel what is changing.
To hear ourselves again.
What becomes audible when you stop rushing from one chapter into the next?
That is what we’ll make room for.

New to Yoga Nidra?
-
You’re welcome here.
Yoga Nidra is a guided practice of deep rest and awareness, usually experienced lying comfortably on your back or in whatever position supports your body.
There is nothing to perform and no need to clear your mind.
Your mind may wander.
You may drift toward sleep.
You may hear every word.
You may not.
There is no perfect way for the experience to unfold.
Come exactly as you are.
Before September arrives...
-

Before the calendar fills.
Before the pace changes again.
Before you ask yourself what you need to do next...
Give yourself a little time to be here.
In the pause.
In the not-quite-yet.
In The Space Between.

A Few Questions Before We Begin.
-
You won’t be lying still for two hours.
The Yoga Nidra practice itself will be approximately 45 minutes. We’ll also have time to arrive, explore the theme together, set an intention, journal, reflect, and slowly return.
And during Yoga Nidra, you’re always welcome to move, adjust, open your eyes, or change position. There is nothing you need to endure or get “right.”
-
Many meditation practices ask you to sit upright and repeatedly bring your attention back to a particular point.
Yoga Nidra is usually practiced lying down or reclining while you’re guided through awareness of the body, breath, sensation, imagery, and rest.
It also includes Sankalpa—a heartfelt intention or inner resolve that you return to during the practice. Rather than something you have to force or achieve, it becomes a quiet reminder of what feels deeply true for you.
You don’t need to clear your mind or hold your attention perfectly. You simply listen and allow the experience to unfold.
-
Not at all.
There are no poses to perform and no meditation experience required. You can lie down, recline, or find whatever position allows your body to feel supported.
Come exactly as you are.
-
That’s okay.
You may hear every word. You may drift in and out. You may fall asleep for part of the practice—especially if you’re tired.
If you become aware that you’ve drifted, simply return to the sound of my voice. There’s no need to judge the experience or decide that you did it wrong.
-
A recording will be available for 14 days after the workshop, so you can experience the practice at a time that works for you.
-
Very little.
Create a place where your body can be comfortable—a mat, bed, sofa, or wherever you feel supported. You may want pillows, a blanket, an eye covering, water or tea, and your journal and pen.
If candles, soft lighting, music before we begin, or a favorite scent help the space feel more inviting, bring those too.
You’ll also receive a simple checklist before the workshop.
-
You don’t need to arrive feeling peaceful, clear, or ready for what comes next.
Perhaps you’re moving through a transition, an ending, uncertainty, grief, or simply a change you haven’t had time to fully register.
You don’t have to figure any of it out during these two hours.
This is a place to pause, listen, and meet yourself where you are.
